In many ways it is, yes. As the export of Brazilian rosewood (yesteryear’s go-to body wood for many premium acoustics) becomes more and more controlled and, hence, a rare commodity, Brazilian is rapidly approaching unobtanium levels and Madagascan is an able substitute.
