GROWING UP in Sydney, Australia, Ed Jardine had a passion for design from a young age, thanks to an inspiring education which encouraged originality and creativity. Following a move to London, where he developed his career as a landscape architect, Ed continued to pursue his creative vocation by founding Madrigal Yarns.
Currently based in rural Suffolk, Ed spoke to us from his yarn dyeing studio, to share the melodic inspiration behind his evocative colourways.
How did you come to set up Madrigal Yarns?
“Madrigal Yarns began in 2018 after I had finished my career in landscape architecture - I wanted to go back to a happy place in my childhood and reconnect to the magic that colour can bring to our everyday lives. I have always been an avid knitter, and was inspired by the bolder colourways of European craft traditions - I loved browsing the yarn aisles on the weekends.
