Thai Farmer Plants a Whooping 300,000 Black Thorn Trees

“The density of their durian trees is as high as that of an acre of oil palms in Malaysia.
“Thailand has officially entered the ranks of commercial production

If 34 durian trees can be planted on an acre of land, then 300,000 durian trees would require more than 8,500 acres of orchard land.

Saksri Sangarasri, a Thai durian farmer claims that there’s around 300,000 Black Thorn durian trees.

“In fact, there’s about 1,000 acres of Black Thorn orchards in Betong, Thailand alone,” Saksri Sangarasri proclaimed with a smile.

According to him, there are 200,000 to 300,000 Black Thorn trees in Thailand today. This data is backed up by P. Cat, chairman of the Durian Association in Betong, Thailand.
