BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO: QST AND SPLITQST UNITS

Both Quarter-square Triangles (QST) and Split-quarter-square Triangles (Split-QST) begin with Half-square Triangles. These are relatively easy blocks to add to your skillset and you can get some stunning results using them.

QST AND QST VARIATIONS

You can prepare your Half-square Triangles in any way you choose. For this example we will use the two-at-a-time method to make HSTs, that can be used to make 6in finished (6½in unfinished) QSTs and Split-QSTs. See the chart for other sizes.
