Occasionally, the worlds of set design and antiques collide in a magical way. (pictured above) with his daughter when he spotted a long-lost oil painting: (pictured below) by Hungarian artist Róbert Berény, hanging on the wall of a living room set, that had disappeared in the 1920s. Barki repeatedly emailed the production company and, two years later, he received a reply from a set designer, who explained it had been bought from an antiques shop in California by a props buyer at Sony Pictures in the 1990s for $500, used in several films and TV shows, then purchased by a set designer to hang in their home. The set designer then sold it on to an art collector, who auctioned it in December 2014, when it sold to a Hungarian collector for $285,700.
