50-year mystery ‘JOANNE REFUSED TO LEAVE KIRSTE’

On the 50th anniversary of Kirste Gordon and Joanne Ratcliffe's disappearance from Adelaide Oval, a former crime detective has told how he is hopeful the case that has haunted Australia since the 1970s will finally be solved.

Former South Australian Major Crime Squad detective Bill Hayes explains that significant evidence is being explored by his former colleagues that could finally provide a breakthrough.

“This particular case, I believe, is solvable,” the retired policeman turned private detective. “There is evidence that will point the finger directly at some people and the man who is my strongest suspect.”
