Seeing the sacred in performance

During August, there is a burgeoning number of events celebrating women. For Hindus, the period is even more powerful as it overlaps with the auspicious and powerful time of Amman or Shakthi prayers.

Shakthi is energy, feminine energy that is responsible for creation, and for that which gives rise to Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara. Shakthi represents the driving force for creation, preservation and transformation in the universe. She is simply divine energy.
