IF YOU’RE LOOKING for a means to quickly build a database of your precious collections, then Data Crow is that tool. When we last featured it in early 2020, it was on life support and on the verge of falling into disrepair. Fast-forward to now, however, and not only has the original developer returned to the project, he has spent the last nine months updating and refining Data Crow so that it’s better than ever.
Data Crow is designed to work with a wide range of collections, from books, music, and movies to newly added modules that allow you to organize your board games and comic books, too. You can input details of your items manually or make use of Data Crow’s support for online databases, allowing you to input a name, find a match, and then quickly ‘scrape’ that database for information and artwork, just as you would with Plex or Kodi.
Once in place, you can search your database(s) for items, glean stats from them, and even set up a loan system, allowing you to lend items to friends and family without having to worry about tracking who has what. You can even create your own collections from scratch! Read on to discover how to get started. –NICK PEERS
