Saving the past

I thought your readers might like to see this photo of my first savings book, which was issued to me when I was born in August 1953, the same year as the late Queen Elizabeth’s coronation. It is my understanding that every child born in 1953 received this savings book with the amount of five shillings. I’m glad I still have mine. Elizabeth McAnally, Belfast
