Benfica finally end barren run

After three years without a single trophy – an eternity for Portugal’s biggest club – Benfica won the top domestic prize in 2022-23, playing some scintillating football along the way under Roger Schmidt, who becomes the first German manager to coach a team to the Portuguese league title.
