Barca back on top

At half-time in the Champions League final it seemed that Wolfsburg were going to spring an upset. A combination of smart pressing, sharp counter-attacking, strong defence and ruthless finishing had put the Germans 2-0 up against Barcelona.

But within five minutes of the break it all unravelled, as Patri Guijarro scored twice in 108 seconds to draw the favourites level. Fridolina Rolfo’s subsequent winner followed a comedy of errors but was no surprise; the match xG was 4.6 to 0.7 in Barca’s favour. In their third successive final, the Catalan club had won back the crown they lost to Lyon last year.
