SPRINGBOARD TO SUCCESS

The Writing Magazine Children’s Book Prize searches for the best unpublished and unagented writers of children’s fiction every year. In 2020, the judges for the prize (then known as The Writing Magazine Picture Book Prize) chose Louise Fitzgerald as the winner, with her brilliant story The Quickest Bedtime Story Ever! At the beginning of 2019 I started focusing on children’s writing. I was immediately drawn to picture books. I’ve realised this age group appeals to me due to my background in acting. I’ve natural instinct for reading words off the page, rather like a script I suppose.
