Riding the Pattern WESTERN HORSEMANSHIP

WHAT THE JUDGE WANTS

In a Western Horsemanship Pattern a Judge will assess your position on your horse, as you perform a series of maneuvers in a pattern set by the Judge. Western Horsemanship is also based and judged on each of those maneuvers, and how well you perform them. Credits can increase your score and penalties can decrease it, as you ride each part of any pattern. You’ll try harder if you understand why Credits are earned in this class. If you learn why Penalties are given, you’ll be less likely to accrue them.
