When was the last time you really enjoyed a workout? For those having trouble remembering, you’re not alone: in a 2021 survey conducted by Zumba, 45% of participants admitted finding exercise boring. Meanwhile, 84% said they’d be happy to work out more often if they didn’t find it quite so dull.

But exercise needn’t be monotonous and dreary. There are more adventurous options on offer than ever – bungee rope classes, pole dancing, circus fitness and goat yoga, to name a few.

Finding exercise that you revel in is important for several reasons, says clinical psychologist Dr Patapia Tzotzoli. ‘Firstly, people are more motivated to engage in exercise when it’s something they enjoy, because they are more likely to view it as a positive experience rather than a chore,’ she explains.
