The 2-0 Merseyside derby win at Anfield was Jurgen Klopp’s 250th win as Liverpool manager in all competitions. It was his 414th game in charge of the Reds, reaching the milestone win quicker than any of the previous three managers to do so for the club (Paisley 448, Shankly 472 and Watson 539.

PURPLE MESSAGE

The Canadian women’s soccer team arrived at Exploria Stadium wearing purple, a color associated with gender equality, for its opening game against the U.S. at the SheBelieves Cup in Orlando. Forward Jordyn Huitema led the team in with all the players wearing the same purple T-shirt. The women, currently embroiled in a labor dispute with their governing body, taped over the Canada Soccer logo on their backpacks. They walked out before the game wearing purple T-shirts etched with the words "Enough is Enough" and kept them on for the anthems, maintaining the purple theme during the game via tape on their wrists.

Against Iran, Wales’ Wayne Hennessey was just third goalkeeper to be sent off at the World Cup, after Gianluca Pagliuca for Italy against Norway in 1994 and Itumeleng Khune for South Africa against Uruguay in 2010.

KISS & MAKE UP

Napoli extended their lead at the top of Serie A in a Valentine’s Daythemed kit that has left fans very divided. Luciano Spalletti’s side demolished Cremonese 3-0 thanks to goals from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Victor Osimhen and Eljif Elmas. But it was the kit rather than the team now being 16 points clear in the race for the Scudetto that has got everyone talking. Despite playing at home, Napoli didn't wear their famous blue strip, instead opting for a white shirt with red trim. And most eye catching of all, the top had huge lips planted on the bottom to represent a kiss. While some found the new look refreshing, others did not hold back to express their disapproval of the bold design.

WINGER CHUNG

The Seattle Sounders have dropped a special edition Bruce Lee kit to celebrate his life and legacy on the 50th anniversary of his death. The martial arts legend has a strong connection with Seattle, as he spent his early years in the city and was buried in Seattle after his death at the age of 32. The new kit is red and black with a yellow trim and a dragon design. Lee’s signature is also stamped on the bottom of the shirt with a dragon symbol.

A TOUCH OF RED

The Vancouver Whitecaps sported a new look and a new sponsor when they opened the Major League Soccer season in late February.
