Set amid the majestic Moghul ruins of Qutub Minar, Karan Torani launched his flagship store, drawing inspiration from Phool Waalon Ki Sair, the annual procession of the florists of Delhi. Called Chaap Tilak, after the Sufi poet Amir Khusrow’s famous kalam, this event recreated the festivities of Spring and Krishna’s Raasleela, sprinkled with rose and jasmine petals in every corner. The ensembles were a seamless extension of the verdant atmosphere and showcased signature floral prints, along with a host of couture and luxurious wedding ensembles for the summer bride… Think hues of ivory, mint green, and sky blue, adorned with intricate aari work and doriya embroideries. It wasn’t a surprise to know that the interiors of the store have been done by Karan himself.
