Wild swimming has always been popular, but ever since lockdown when swimming pools shut their doors, it’s seen a huge surge in popularity – with people taking to Britain’s lakes, rivers and coastline to get their fix.

But what is it that makes taking a dip in nature’s pool so alluring?
