WH Davis releases first of 10 water equipped MRAs

THE first of 10 five-unit MRA side-tipping formations has received dust suppression equipment following conversion at Langwith Junction.

Looking radically different from its as-built condition, Network Rail MRA generator-fitted ‘outer’ wagon No. 501305 is the first recipient of a new water-based dust suppression system that has been installed by WH Davis of Langwith Junction in partnership with TUV Rheinland and Cotswold Fluid Power. This vehicle is formed with ‘inners’ Nos. 501353-5 and standard ‘outer’ No. 501325, all of which include spraying equipment to tamp down ballast particles before the load is tipped.
