GB Railfreight and Porterbrook have signed a contract for the lease of a further 50 of the revised JNA-X variant of the ubiquitous JNA (UIC code Ealnos) box wagon, to be built by Greenbrier/ Astra Rail and delivered in the third quarter of 2024.
Introduced in 2016 and originally TOPS coded JNA-T, some 1192 of the 77-tonne capacity vehicles were constructed in Romania up until the most recent batch of five were delivered in September 2023.
Of these, 200 carry GBRf livery, 50 leased from Wascosa Rail in 2017, 100 leased from Ermewa in 2019, and the debut batch of 50 JNA-X from Porterbrook that was delivered
