New section of Dawlish sea wall opened

ANOTHER section of the new Dawlish sea wall opened on May 25, as part of an £80 million scheme to offer the railway protection from the sea.

The 415-metre section between Coastguards and Colonnade breakwaters officially opened at 14.00 on May 25, and is linked to the first section of the new wall at Marine Parade by a new footbridge that runs parallel to the railway viaduct. This also wraps around the station.
