ALBUM

K-Lone, Swells

Wisdom Teeth the debut album from Wisdom Teeth boss K-Lone, made quite an impression when it landed in 2020. A hazy concoction of polyrhythmic synth mallets and artificial birdsong, its balance ofis an intentional departure from that record, more aligned with the club-focused work of the producer’s various EPs and singles. While it lacks the consistent aesthetic of its predecessor, there’s no drop in the quality of the production. Across 10 tracks K-Lone deftly balances elements of house, techno, garage, dub and synth pop, all unified by bright, summery synths and rattling drum grooves largely pulled from a Roland CR-78.
