Ready, steady, hook!

For me, crochet is a solitary pastime. I brew a cup of tea, put on a podcast and curl up in a comfy chair, hook in one hand, yarn in the other. This wasn’t the case on Friday, 24 February this year, however, when I found myself crocheting alongside hundreds of fellow hooksters, all as obsessed with the craft as me.

You see, I had made the long pilgrimage from my home in Bath to Derby Arena in order to take part in a new Guinness World Record attempt for the most people simultaneously crocheting together, and fellow crochet designer Fran Morgan, whose garments frequently grace the cover of this magazine. Here’s how our day unfolded…
