A FATHER’S love

There’s an old cliché that says a girl’s first true love is her father. But when her father’s true love is rugby, the key to his heart is through an oval-shaped ball. I unlocked the best out of the relationship with my father through diving headfirst into the world of rugby. Little did I know, this game would shape the rest of my life.

I was born and raised in the small rural town of Te Kuiti. For locals, weekends are spent sheep shearing, pig hunting, or watching the mighty King Country Rams. Admittedly, I spent my time playing with animals, pig hunting with my uncles or at the BMX track racing my little heart out.
