New findings could reverse government’s housing ban
In April 2022, the government announced that a total of 74 local authorities were affected by adverse waterway quality issues, after advice from Natural England. The news led to the pausing of 120,000 new homes, including self-builds, after the construction industry was deemed to be one of the causes of contamination. However, planning and development consultancy, Lichfields, recently released a report that suggests otherwise.
