A HORRIBLE DEATH TO A HORRIBLE MAN

Drawing on the yin/yang dynamics of metal and shoegaze and smashing the two styles together iswith searing sincerity. AHDTAHM started life as a noise rock act in 2014, but this debut full-length shows little signs of that cacophonous foundation. Instead, songs like and the title track sprawl and expand in a lucid manner that recalls The Cure as played by Darkthrone fans. The only obvious flaw in is it can begin to sound a little one-paced by the album’s conclusion, but otherwise this is a distinct and impressive take on the rapidly flourishing scene.
