Thin out rows of beetroot

Beetroot seedlings need enough space to swell to a good size, so thin them out now. Put your fingers flat on the ground around the seedling you want to keep, to avoid disturbing the roots, then grip the nearby seedlings at the base and gently pull them out. Start by giving 5cm of space between seedlings, then repeat in a few week’s time, thinning to 10cm if you want bigger beets.
