Customise YouTube controls in SMPlayer

Thanks for recommending SMPlayer (www.snipca.com/45621) in Issue 656’s Cover Feature about free software to replace Windows tools. I also installed the SMTube plug-in (www.smtube.org) to watch YouTube within SMPlayer – and it works a treat. However, SMPlayer’s icons look somewhat outdated, and you don’t need them there while watching a video. To remove them click Options at the top followed by Toolbar, then untick ‘Main toolbar’.

You can also get rid of icons in the bar at the bottom of a YouTube video – click Options, Toolbar, then ‘Edit control bar’. In the ‘Current actions’ box you’ll see the options that are represented by icons in the control bar below. To remove one, click
