    With its aromatic foliage and fragrant flowers, lavender is the pollinator plant par excellence! It is attractive to queen bumblebees, leaf-cutting bees and mason bees. Top varieties include ‘Hidcote’, a lovely deep purple, and ‘Munstead’, a blue purple. Grow lavender in full sun and poor soil, and trim back the plants in September.
