Training time
How much time should I spend each day training my gundog?
Fran says: Training any dog takes time. Training a gundog to a good level takes dedication and commitment, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it has to take loads of time. You are better doing a few short sessions in a day rather than a long period of training, especially when your dog is young. Also, I find that a few days of no training can really benefit a young dog, particularly if you are concentrating on what can be pressure exercises such as steadiness. Little and often is by far the best way.

Cabinet question
I’m at the stage of applying for my shotgun certificate but I don’t have a cabinet yet. If I’m unsuccessful with the application I worry that the cabinet might end up being a waste of money. Do I need to buy a cabinet at this stage?
