Government gears up to increase planning fees
The government has outlined its initial plans to increase the cost of planning applications in England. In a recently released consultation document, the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities proposed upping planning fees for major applications, such as housing developments, by 35%, and all other applications – including self-builds and extensions – by 25%.
