SA has a new Cape country star on the rise

Micaela Kleinsmith was a young girl with a dream when she won Apple Music TV+’s “My Kind of Country” competition.

A songbird from Parow, Western Cape, Kleinsmith grew up watching singing competition events and wishing she could perform on stage.

She learnt about vocal attack and range, and used her music as a coping mechanism for her traumatic experiences as a heavily-bullied child.

Kleinsmith used her newfound talent to enter competitions in her neighbourhood. In 2016, she featured
