Presented in partnership with BMW Malaysia, Sime Darby Property, Lancôme, Johnnie Walker, Whispering Angel and Royal Selangor, Tatler Malaysia’s first Front & Female Awards ceremony kicked on March 21 at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur. Six deserving winners were announced from a shortlist of 20 inspiring nominees, including senior female leaders championing equity in their workplaces and activists uplifting women in marginalised communities. The list of nominations was diverse and nothing short of inspiring, and narrowing this incredible group down to the final 20 names was far from easy. But we couldn’t have been prouder to present the 18 women and two men who were shortlisted for the Front & Female Awards.
These individuals are champions of progress for women in Malaysia. They launched or grew initiatives in the last 18 months and were identified with the help of an expert voting committee comprised of some of Malaysia’s most influential leaders. With their help, we’re delighted to present the six incredible individuals who have gone above and beyond to drive the progress of women and girls in the nation.
From pioneering new ways of screening cervical cancer, fighting for equal rights of Malaysian mothers to confer citizenship to their overseas-born children, or leading the charge of equipping women to succeed in engineering and blockchain sectors, these changemakers demonstrate the will and determination to create a world that moves women forward. A perfect match for BMW’s value of Forwardism, our six Front & Female winners are challenging conventions and finding joy in forging a future that benefits us all.
