HUFF PUFFS TO GORDON SPICE VICTORY

Jake Hill’s sensational victory in Saturday’s larger-capacity Group 1 saloon heat at Goodwood’s 80th Members’ Meeting was a lesson in never giving up.

The six-time BTCC race winner had qualified Ric Wood’s Ford Capri quickest for the Gordon Spice Trophy races when he hit oil, then the bank at St Mary’s. The left front suspension was wrecked, but Wood’s mechanics replaced it and set the battered car up as best they could.
