How did you begin cross stitching?

Crafting was really big in my family growing up. There were always beads and thread and fabric and yarn everywhere! I started embroidering onto dishcloths and quilt blocks about the same time I started primary school. I remember not liking cross stitch when I first tried it as a child because I felt like it was too slow to show progress. Somehow, in college, I ended up diving headfirst into a huge Disney Thomas Kinkade Studios cross
