Creating Connections

My words grace these pages for the final part of this series, and it strikes me how quickly these 13 issues have passed. So much has happened, and so much has stayed the same. That’s the nature of life; ebbing and flowing, some things ever constant, and some things ever changing. One thing I know for sure that hasn’t changed, is my passion for quilting and the love of my craft to connect with others.

Throughout this series, I’ve considered the many ways that quilting connects us. To our families and friends, to other fellow quilters, to events in society, to nature, to historical events and places. I’ve explored how quilts can be used as political statements; to convey messages and raise awareness of issues close to our hearts. How quilts can also reflect our love of colour and the seasons, and connect us to organisations, such as Today’s Quilter. And finally, this issue I’m reflecting inwards, thinking about how quilts can help us find connection with ourselves.

I thought I’d go back to the beginning
