“Originally I tried to motion capture all the performances. But it became clear really fast that it was aget the performance and get the eyeline, all while speaking Swahili, and we did it with this mocap programme called MocapX that works with an iPhone. That simplified stuff because if we just needed something else, we'd step into mocap and put it into the edit. Once you had it in, the story either worked or it didn't. At that point, you could call it a storyboard. But unlike a storyboard that then gets thrown away, that's the film. Now it keeps getting better and better.”
