FABRIC FLAIR

BEHIND THE QUILT

BOUQUET OF PRINTS

In designing the Medallion Quilt, Kaffe mixed fabrics with some of his favourite colour combinations. The fabrics from the February 2023 collection by Kaffe Fassett Collective for FreeSpirit Fabrics provided the perfect array of colour, scale, design and texture to surround the striking centre bouquet with the definition and depth of the borders. The binding fabric was chosen to frame the quilt with a unique print. In viewing the finished quilt, Kaffe remarked that he can envision this quilt as the centre of a Victorian Baroque-style bedroom. From the vision, design, colour and fabrics, to the quilt… what a beautiful story.
