CHANGING FACE OF Madonna

In the four decades since Madonna took the music industry by storm with her 1983 self-titled debut album, the superstar always has been aware that her strength lies in her uncanny ability to hold the world’s attention. “I know I’m not the best singer and I know I’m not the best dancer, but I’m not interested in that,” she said in her 1991 documentary, In Bed with Madonna. “I’m interested in pushing people’s buttons, in being provocative.”
