WHITE WINES

COLLIO

93 Primosic 2021 Pinot Grigio (Collio). Pale copper in color, with lacy and wafting aromas, this is a unique and worthwhile Pinot Grigio. Aromas of white cherry, lemon pith and green apple set the stage for more subtle aromas of pressed flowers and river stones. The palate is broad and ample. A solid core of baked pear and citrus skin wrapped in vivid acidity gives it a sturdy backbone. Drink now–2030. Panebianco. Editors’ Choice. —J.P.

abv: 13.5% Price: $25

93 Primosic 2018 Ribolla Gialla (Collio). Macerated for over 28 days, this golden-hued wine jumps out of the bottle with aromas of spiced dried apricots, roasted honey, dried yellow flowers and dried earth. The palate is rich and full in body, with a nuttiness mixed with dried peach flavors. The wine finishes with exotic spice and dried floral notes. Drink now–2030. Panebianco. —J.P.

abv: 13.5% Price: $56

93 Raccaro 2021Q This wine is one of the standard bearers of Malvasia in the Collio. Elegant aromas of white peach, jasmine, magnolia, crushed rock and fresh herbs all ebb and flow with each whiff of the glass. Pine and fresh herbs meld with fresh apples and apricot on the palate, with layers upon layers of ever-evolving flavors. This wine also ages super well, so give it a try. Drink now–2030. Jan D’Amore Wines. —J.P.

There are few foods as revered and argued over as the NYC bagel. Sure, Montreal may have its own version—a pillowy ring of warm dough—but when most people close their eyes and think of a bagel, they picture the dense, pock-marked puck with a hole in
