I’m writing in regards to the venue change for BikeFestOz (AMCN Vol 72 No 16). You may recall that 10 years or so ago the Tweed local government authority prevented a round of the World Rally Championship being held in the region. Some of the locals went to the extent of placing logs across parts of the special sections.

There also used to be an excellent weekend of ‘demonstration’ runs on the streets of Murwillumbah called Speed on Tweed. This, too, came to a sad end around roughly the same time. At that time a very green mayor and council were in place. It seems as if nothing has changed!
