Dig up and weed perennial plants
If you have perennials that are becoming host to weed plants it can be a good idea to dig them out for a cleanup. Do this no later than April, while shoots are young enough to recover. Put a tarpaulin down to keep soil off the grass when you’re working on the lifted clump.
