How to water

Feel the compost or lift and feel the weight of your pots and baskets to check whether they need watering. Plants putting on leafy growth require more water. Warm or windy conditions will increase the need for watering too. Don’t rely on the rain to do the job as leaves act like an umbrella and the rain ends up on the ground around the pot.
