Our homes are so often our sanctuaries, but ever feel like you need more? A space you can escape to within the confines of its boundaries, where you can recharge and reset? Well, it seems you’re not alone.

It’s a growing trend, which the team at Pinterest identified back in 2022 as one to watch. ‘We predicted that people would plan their own great escapes at home, with searches for “crystal rooms”, “home massage rooms” and “tiny library rooms” all seeing large increases,’ says Matt Siberry, head of home at Pinterest UK. ‘We’ve all been through a lot over the past few years, with mental wellness top of the agenda, and many of us are spending more time in our homes now.
