TIME FOR A CHANGE

Drawn to the location on a leafy street, Anna and Denis bought their late 19th-century house in 2007, carrying out a series of minor improvements after moving in. But it wasn’t until they’d had children that they contemplated more radical changes. ‘The side return by the kitchen felt like wasted space,’ explains Anna. ‘We also wanted the living area to seem bigger, an extra bedroom and another toilet.’
