Sam Mars hall

GROWING UP AN ONLY CHILD surrounded by the flat fens of Lincolnshire, where her father was a cabbage farmer, Sam Marshall found solace in drawing. It was her way of escaping into her own inner world, something that has continued into adulthood. Even today, she says it’s her way of processing her life experiences; she sorts through problems and documents her life through her drawings.

She studied at the Slade School of Fine Art, where she made short films and when she left, decided to work in the film industry. She started off as a runner in a postproduction company and then ended up working in production as a researcher and director’s assistant. However, she always knew it wasn’t the right fit as a choice of career and left after eight years to train as a nutritionist. She then spent the next seven years working as an in-house nutritionist at Wholefoods whilst simultaneously running her own practice.
