Try collage

COLLAGE IS A MEDIUM you might not have tried before. It’s a great way of exploring colour and shape, whilst it gives you a lot of freedom to move things around and try different compositions. Back when I was still studying, I used a lot of collage in my work. I had a great fear of backgrounds, so I cut everything out of tiny bits of paper and carefully painted it and glued it together; then I could hold it against different backgrounds to see what looked best.
