Yarn F Cardinal 2306

□ Pair of 2.25mm needles

□ Toy filling

□ 2 amber 7mm safety toy eyes

□ A plain black 10mm safety toy eye, (for nose)

□ Locking stitch markers

□ Length of white sewing thread

□ White felt, 7x3cm

□ Black embroidery thread

TENSION

34 sts and 44 rows to measure 10x10cm (4x4in) over st st using 2.25mm needles

MADAME CHOLET UPPER FEET (MAKE 2)

Cast on 6 sts using 2.25mm needles and Yarn A.

Row 1 (RS) Purl

Row 2 (Kfb) 6 times. [12 sts]

Row 3 Purl

Row 4 Kfb, knit to last st, kfb. [14 sts]

Rows 5 to 7 Starting on a RS P row work in rev st st.

Row 8 K4, cast off 6 sts, K4 (including st rem on RH needle from casting off). [8 sts]

Row 9 P2, p2tog, turn leaving rem 4 sts on hold. [3 sts]

Row 10 K2tog, K1. [2 sts]

Rows 11 to 19 Starting on a RS P row work in rev st st.

Cast off.

With RS facing, rejoin Yarn A to 4 held sts.

Row 9 P2tog, P2. [3 sts]

Row 10 K1, k2tog. [2 sts]

Rows 11 to 19 Starting on a RS P row work in rev st st.

Cast off.

LEGS (MAKE 2)

Cast on 24 sts using 2.25mm needles and Yarn A.

Row 1 (WS) K9, PM in last st worked, K7, PM in last st worked, K8.

Rows 2 to 16 Beg with a RS P row, work in rev st st.

Cast off.

Sew 6 sts between marked sts on each Leg to 6 cast-off sts of each Upper Foot. Remove markers. Sew seam at back of each Leg. Sew seam at back of each Upper Foot then sew Upper Foot to Leg at back seam. Now sew rem Leg sts to Upper Foot.

SOLES (MAKE 2)

Cast on 6 sts using 2.25mm needles and Yarn A.

Row 1 (WS) Knit.

Row 2 Kfb, K4, kfb. [8 sts]

Row 3 Kfb, K6, kfb. [10 sts]

Rows 4 to 9 Knit.

Row 10 K2tog. K6. k2tog. [8 sts]

Rows 11 to 16 Knit.

Row 17 K2tog, K4, k2tog. [6 sts]

Row 18 Knit.

Cast off.

Sew 6 cast-on sts to 6 Upper Foot cast-on sts, then sew cast-off sts to back of Leg. Now sew sts each side of these and stuff, a little at a time.

BODY

Cast on 56 sts using 2.25mm needles and Yarn A.

Row 1 (WS) K2, PM in last st worked, K24, PM in last st worked, K5, PM in last st worked, K23, PM in last st worked, K2.

Row 2 Purl.

Row 3 (K6, kfb) 8 times. [64 sts]

Rows 4 to 6 Beg with a RS P row work in rev st st.

Row 7 (K7, kfb) 8 times. [72 sts]

Rows 8 to 10 Cont in rev st st as set.

Row 11 (K8, kfb) 8 times. [80 sts]

Rows 12 to 16 Cont in rev st st as set.

Row 17 (K6, k2tog) 10 times. [70 sts]

Rows 18 to 20 Cont in rev st st as set.

Row 21 (K5, k2tog) 10 times. [60 sts]

Rows 22 to 24 Cont in rev st st as set.

Row 25 (K4, k2tog) 10 times. [50 sts]

Rows 26 to 30 Cont in rev st st as set.

Row 31 (K3, k2tog) 10 times. [40 sts]

Rows 32 to 36 Cont in rev st st as set.

Row 37 (K2. k2tog) 10 times. [30 sts]

Rows 38 to 42 Cont in rev st st as set.

Row 43 (K1, k2tog) 10 times. [20 sts]

Row 44 Purl.

Cast off.

Sew seam from top of Body to base. Sew the 4 sts between marked sts at back to 4 sts between marked sts at front. Remove markers. Pin top of Legs to gaps, with back seam of Legs on the same side as
