England edge Wales

AMAAN GHULAM and Oladimeji Shittu were England’s heroes when they took on Wales in Tamworth on January 28.

The team match was tied at 5-5 at the impressive Landau Forte Sixth Form College with two senior bouts left.

The penultimate contest was between Ghulam and Scott Richards –and the clash of southpaws was desperately close. There wasn’t much between them going into the last and rather than go for broke, Ghulam slowed the pace down and won the round clearly.
