TOUCHDOWN BANGKOK

In our latest journalism adventure I traveled with High Times Vice President of Content Jon Cappetta and the High Rise TV guys to hit Bangkok in late 2022 and check out Thailand’s then six-month-old legal cannabis scene. After a 14-hour flight from San Francisco to Taipei, I’d link with the Los Angeles gang for the final leg of the trip to Bangkok. Four hours later we touched down in Thailand.

The reason for our trip? In June 2022, cannabis was removed from Thailand’s list of controlled substances after a 120-day waiting period following lawmakers making the move. After years of discussion on the subject, decriminalization was intended to bolster Thailand’s medical cannabis industry in the international market. But as officials still work to finalize regulations, the medical dispensary scene has exploded all over the country. You can walk in with a passport, no doctor’s note
