I am having trouble getting my spaniel puppy to focus on me when training. He is more interested in watching the birds. I have tried treats, but this hasn’t worked.
At some point treats stop working, especially in the face of something more interesting. Try engaging him on your walk by lowering down, clapping your hands and turning away from him and getting him to walk to heel. Invest in a seriously exciting toy and take that out with you and take that out with you. Use it to get his attention, throwing it in the opposite direction and working on
